Simple Future — Introduction and Verb Forms
Understand the time relationship and choose the required verb form.
Introduction
Use will for predictions, promises, offers, and decisions. Practise describing what you expect or intend to do tomorrow; other future constructions also exist.
When and why
Prediction: I think it will rain.
Promise: I will help you.
Decision now: The phone is ringing. I will answer it.
Future intentions in this exercise: I will study tomorrow.
Formula
Subject + will + V1
Required verb form
V1 — Will works with every subject. Will not contracts to won’t.
Examples
I will visit my grandmother tomorrow.
I will not travel in the evening.
Ask WH questions in this tense
WH + will + subject + V1 ...?
What will you do tomorrow?
How will they travel?
Choose what, where, when, why, which, whose or how for the information needed. How many asks about countable quantities; how much about amounts; how often about frequency; how long about duration. A subject question can keep normal order: Who works here? Do not add do just because a WH word appears.
