A sentence expresses a complete idea. Most statements have a subject and a verb.

The building rule

Begin with a capital letter. Finish with a full stop, question mark, or exclamation mark.

See it in a sentence

Birds sing.

I read a book.

Do you like music?

Begin and end a sentence clearly

Start with a capital. End a statement with a full stop, a direct question with ?, and a strong exclamation with !.
I play football.
Where do you live?
What a beautiful flower!
