When a regular verb already ends in silent e, add only d for V2/V3.
The building rule
love + d → loved; remove silent e before -ing.

A spelling reminder
The e is already there: add d for the past, remove silent e for ing.
Watch out
Wrong: loveed / loveing. Correct: loved / loving.
