Future Perfect — Uses and Common Mistakes

Use the tense in a clear context and avoid common errors.

Major uses

Completion before a deadline: I will have finished by Friday.
Before another future event: We will have cleaned the house before the guests arrive.
After before/by the time in these time clauses, normally use present simple, not will.

Common time expressions

by six, by next week, before, by the time, by the end of the month

Common mistakes

She will has finished. → She will have finished.
I will have wrote. → I will have written.

Grammar trick

Choose the future deadline first. Look back: will have + V3.

Read a connected example

The guests will arrive at six. By then, we will have cleaned the house. Mom will have cooked dinner. We will have decorated the room and arranged the chairs.
